Upon completion of the fellowship, graduates will have the leadership skills, knowledge, community of peers and training necessary to assume a clinical and operational leadership role in a developing or established telehealth program at the service line, hospital or health system level. Fellows will work closely with core residency and telehealth faculty to:

• Use telehealth effectively to deliver clinical care across multiple platforms and modalities
• Develop broad domain expertise in telehealth technologies, workflows, provider training and in the regulatory, legal, compliance and economic framework of telehealth including mechanisms of reimbursement both within fee-for-service and value-based payment systems
• Develop deep domain expertise in at least one telehealth modality, such as direct to consumer urgent care (MedStar eVisit), teletriage (MedStar Acute Care Coordinating Center/ MAC3), remote patient monitoring, or peer-to-peer consultation as examples
• Use informatics and telehealth interactions to design patient centered encounters resulting in clinically appropriate, high value and meaningful provider and patient experiences
• Work with clinical faculty and the Georgetown University School of Medicine to develop foundational curriculum for telehealth in medical residencies and medical student education
• Assist with the design, operations, and implementation of an ongoing faculty curriculum to support experienced clinicians embracing new technologies and workflows throughout the health system
• Document the inaugural fellowship experience to improve and expand the quality and scale for future classes
